Tiger Safaris in India

Seeing your first tiger in the wild is a feeling that is hard to convey in words. It’s a moment that everyone must experience. But how do you go about booking a safari that can give you the chance to have this experience?

Booking a wildlife safari in India isn’t exactly a walk in the park as there are multiple variables to be considered. Such as, which park, what dates, which zones, which lodge, which naturalist, what airport or train station, there’s just a lot to consider and coordinate. That’s where we come in!

We make the experience of booking a customised wildlife safari easy. Whether it is your first time or you’re a veteran wildlifer, we can assist you in designing the tiger safari you need!

What 10 years of Jungle Safaris in India Teaches You

We have explored the best tiger reserves, traversed breathtaking landscapes, pursued and found some of the rarest birds, hiked the heights of snow leopards, basically we’ve moved around a lot across India for the last 10 years. This decade-long journey has allowed us to narrow down the right parks, peak seasons and most experienced naturalists to give you the best chance of seeing your target animal.

All you have to do is turn up with socks and a pair of binoculars.

Why Travel With Us

Enjoy the wilderness at your own pace.

Experienced Naturalists and Guides

With years of experience under their belt, we have identified the best guides and naturalists in every park. Guides that grew up in the buffer zones of wildlife reserves and naturalists who have dedicated decades to wildlife, these individuals are attuned to the ebbs and flows of nature. From their exceptional tracking skills to their deep field knowledge, a naturalist-led private safari is the finest way to experience the national parks and wild havens of India.

Lodges we have actually Slept In

From photos that don’t match the rooms to fake reviews, the online world isn’t as trustworthy and unbiased as it needs to be. But we bridge that gap by experiencing the lodges ourselves before recommending them to clients. It’s important to know exactly where you are putting your hard-earned money. We ensure our vendors and accommodation partners are held to our high standards. From hygienic rooms to delicious food, we make sure you have a seamless accommodation experience.

All you have to do is turn up. We don’t just provide safaris; we provide the complete experience.

India’s Best Tiger Reserves

India holds more than 70% of the world’s wild tiger population in over 100 national parks. Each of these parks has its own charm, with varying habitats and biodiversity. Although the tiger occupies forests across the country, the probability of seeing one on a safari varies vastly from park to park. These five tiger reserves have the highest probability of tiger sightings in the country.

Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve

Currently the best park in the country for tiger sightings, Tadoba truly is the land of the tiger. With a high density of tigers and numbers on the rise, this is one of the few parks in the country where choosing a specific zone doesn’t really matter. Be it the Core or Buffer, the probability of sighting is high. Although a sighting is never guaranteed, Tadoba is your best bet for seeing the striped cat. Tadoba is merely 2.5 hours from Nagpur, a city that has great connectivity with Pune and Mumbai, making this destination ideal for a quick weekend getaway.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Boasting the highest density of tigers in India, Bandhavgarh is arguably one of the most well-known tiger destinations in the world. Mountains, hills, grasslands, streams, and a good chance of seeing the gorgeous tiger: this forest truly is a breathtaking destination for wildlifers! Just around 3.5 hours from Jabalpur, Bandhavgarh is a must visit for tiger enthusiasts. This one needs to go on the bucket list for sure!

Kanha Tiger Reserve

A landscape that inspired Rudyard Kipling to immortalise it in the pages of the Jungle Book, Kanha Tiger Reserve provides the classic central Indian jungle safari experience. From the tall sal trees towering over you to the expansive meadows teeming with herbivores, you’re always in for a memorable safari. The tiger population here has held steady for over 2 decades with conservation practices ensuring a rich and biodiverse habitat. Around 4 hours from Jabalpur or Raipur, or 4.5 hours from Nagpur, Kanha is one of the best tiger destinations of India.

Pench Tiger Reserve

A mere 2 hours from the city of Nagpur, Pench is a destination that everyone must visit at least once. The Pench River meanders through this beautiful landscape that teems with biodiversity, making it an ideal setting for photographers, birders, wildlifers and tiger enthusiasts alike. This park crosses over from Madhya Pradesh into Maharashtra, making it a tiger reserve that allows for safari experiences in both states. Although the biodiversity stays the same, a change in terrain between MP and Maharashtra makes for a unique safari experience in each state.

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve

A park that needs no introduction, Ranthambore is a name that has echoed through the wildlife tourism world for decades. Famous for having had some of the most photographed and videographed tigers in the world, this forest boasts a picturesque landscape that merges with history through the beautiful castle ruins scattered across. A few hours’ drive from Delhi and Jaipur, Ranthambore makes for a great destination for wildlife photography.

Customised Safari Experiences

Different travellers have different ideas of what constitutes an ideal safari experience. A photographer with a 400mm lens needs a completely different itinerary to a birder with binoculars. A family would want a very different itinerary to a group of college friends. We stitch an itinerary specific to you and what you want. From trying to achieve the target checklist of species to just a leisurely stroll through the forest, we create bespoke experiences that cater to your specific need rather than generic itineraries that cater to the masses.

It’s not just a safari package, it’s your safari package!

What Our Guests Say

4.9 / 5 from 200+ reviews

Eight tiger sightings in six drives. Our guide Ramesh predicted a tigress at waterhole 3 at 6:40 AM in March. She showed up at 6:38, which I have brought up at every dinner party since. Singinawa Lodge was perfect. Already planning the next one.

It's Not Just About Tigers

Tigers get all the attention (fair enough, they’re magnificent). But India’s wildlife story is so much bigger. We have lions, rhinos, elephants, gibbons, snow leopards and even red pandas!

Asiatic Lions

The last living population of the Asiatic Lion is found in the state of Gujarat. Once at the brink of extinction, the lions have made an incredible comeback, making this one of the biggest success stories of wildlife conservation in India.

Location: Gir National Park

Leopard

Often overlooked in a country famous for its tigers, the Leopard is one of India's most elusive big cats. A master of disappearing in plain sight, every sighting feels earned.

Location: Jawai, Satpura

Indian One-Horned Rhino

Another massive success story from Indian conservation is that of the Indian One-Horned Rhino. Their population grows slowly but steadily, due to the tireless efforts of the forest department as well as NGOs across the country.

Location: Kaziranga, Manas, Pobitora, Dudhwa

Asian Elephant

The majestic Asian Elephant can be found across various landscapes of north, northeast and south India. Seeing one in the wild is truly a breathtaking experience that will stay with you forever.

Location: Corbett, Kaziranga, Manas, Bandhavgarh

Hoolock Gibbon

The only species of ape in the country, the hoolock gibbon adorns the canopies of Northeast India. With loud echoing calls and agile movements through the trees, sighting a gibbon is a remarkable experience.

Location: Kaziranga, Hollongapar

Snow Leopard

An animal that needs no introduction. Aptly labelled the Ghost of the Himalayas, the Snow Leopard is a master of camouflage that traverses the steep mountain slopes as if gravity doesn’t exist. A true personification of agility, this is one of the rarest animals of wild India!

Location: Spiti

Red Panda

What can we say about the Red Panda that truly captures its charm? The feeling of seeing a Red Panda in its true habitat is something that can only be experienced, not explained.
